KAPTN KEN'S PAGE

Welcome to the world of the lighthouse

Sinbad as the old Salty Dog, Kaptn Ken       Link to Water/Gasoline Project

Aarh! now me hearties and landlubbers, t'is the tale of Sinbad's friend, Kaptn Ken, not a real captain you know, but a real salt of the sailing waters, you bet.

Dressed in appropriate attire, the Kaptn will take you on a tour of a Lighthouse in Oregon. You will go inside an old lighthouse and see where the lightkeeper would set up his night's supplies, you will get to climb the narrow stairs to view the beautiful prisms of the rotating Fresnel lens. You may get to see the keeepers house and listen to stories of ghosts.  Perhaps you will be in Oregon and be able to check out all the lighthouses along the beautiful Oregon Coast.

Jessica, Lady of the Lamp

Kaptn Ken has written a Ghost Story set around the  Umpqua River Lighthouse. It is suposed to be fiction, but there are several ties to actual reference points within the lighthouse, Including a photograph of the Lady in the window at night! Read the book, then visit the lighthouse, and judge for yourself.

(The book is available at some Lighthouse Gift Stores)
